This all-level class delivers fundamental poses that build strength, balance and flexibility. The typical class format is a sequence of flowing postures which focus on alignment and breath awareness. Participants are encouraged and guided to adapt poses to meet their individual needs. I ensure that students progress from basic to more advanced variations as they gain experience.
Catering especially, but not exclusively, to those who cannot easily get up and down from the floor, this class will guide participants through gentle seated and standing poses to stretch and relieve tension in the body. The class focuses on developing mobility, strength and balance while incorporating breath and relaxation techniques. We also like to have fun and incorporate chair dances in this class.
As soon as the weather permits, I offer outdoor yoga once a week, usually on Saturday mornings. It is a wonderful way to gather safely as a community and enjoy some fresh air and nature.
A variety of workshops are offered every other month or so, usually on Saturdays. Past topics have been The Power of Balance, Standing Strong, Yoga for Happy Back, Introduction to Meditation, Ayurveda and Yoga Philosophy 101. Specialty classes focus on one aspect of yoga or address the needs of a certain community of yogis. Some examples are Yoga for runners, Restorative Yoga and Yoga for Stress and Anxiety.
Do you ever wonder if you are doing the postures “correctly”? Would you like some feedback on your practice? Why not join me for a one-on-one Yoga session on Zoom. Private sessions provide a unique opportunity for you to ask questions and for an experienced teacher to tailor the practice to your specific needs and guide you through your practice. I have extensive experience offering private classes and would love to work with you! Sign up for a single session or for multiple sessions.
This Book Club is open to all my current students. We read one book every other month. Some of the books are directly related to yoga and others, more indirectly. Some will be fiction and others, non-fiction. If you have any good books to recommend, by all means, send them to me. The idea is not necessarily to purchase books, but to try to find free Kindle versions or audiobooks on Hoopla.
We are currently reading To Heaven and Back by Mary C. Neal, MD. Our next meeting will be on September 6th.
